RWA has released Version 2 of the Water Accounting System Framework for the Sacramento Regional Water Bank.
The updated framework reflects additional input from Groundwater Sustainability Agencies in the North American and South American subbasins and provides greater clarity and specificity around water accounting benchmarks, coordination and engagement, and other elements of Water Bank implementation.
The updates reflect the Water Bank’s commitment to a transparent, collaborative and adaptive approach as the program moves forward. The fundamental principles of the Water Accounting System remain unchanged, including recharge before recovery, responsible banking, consistency with adopted Groundwater Sustainability Plans and transparent accounting of Water Bank operations.
